Description
Black History Month is a celebrated time of the year when African Americans everywhere regroup and energize their shared destiny towards equality through progress and cultural reflection. The Black Panther Party was a major cultural icon and it was their creation of Ethnic Studies at Merritt College that was highlighted at the Feb 1st Rally. College and High School Students learned about the Panther's educational Legacy in "MERRIT COLLEGE: HOME OF THE BLACK PANTHERS" a documentary produced by Peralta TV.
After the film, attendees heard music, inspirational messages and were able to hear from the keynote speaker and co-founder of the Black Panthers, Bobby Seale.
