Members of the SF ICT Pathways Project team will share the exciting findings, progress and 2013 plans for this effort to create effectual K-12 to college to workforce pathways in the City and County of San Francisco. You'll learn how the project has uncovered a plethora of opportunities and brought together stakeholders from ICT education, workforce development, community-based organizations and industry to build the City's ICT workforce pipeline.
Last April, the Mid-Pacific ICT Center (MPICT) launched a 3-year project to create effectual K-12 to college to workforce pathways in ICT related fields and programs in San Francisco-with an emphasis on improving equity. This is a new program, funded by a $300K grant from the BATEC National ATE Center. Last summer, the project team, with the help of a broad base of stakeholders, completed an inventory of resources, programs, and information relevant to ICT Pathways in SF. This presentation shares findings and rec
ommendations from the report, "Pathways to ICT Education and Careers in San Francisco." A Sep 25th stakeholders meeting helped to identify near-term projects to accomplish during 2012-2013 in the areas of Awareness & Promotion, Curriculum Alignment/Development, and Collaboration & Relationship Building, on which work has begun. The presentation will describe and report on progress of these working group projects.
